We'll begin by saying a very big "thank you" to all our Contributors and especially those who featured in the 2005 Issues either as writers or as researchers of the material for articles.

They are Reg Norton, Roy Hewitt (2 articles), Stuttaford & Co Ltd of South Africa, Jacky Stentiford, the descendents of Sir Ivan Stedeford, Robin Holmes, Maggie Silver, Donna Hiscock, Jennifer Nash, Patricia Byrne, Ruth Archibald, Lloyd C. Rees and Doreen Norton. We very recently received the following e-mail from Kathleen Lake which we wanted all of our contributors to share, including those whose articles now form part of our Archive section:

"I just want to thank you for providing such an outstanding website. I am a newcomer to genealogical research and I learned a great deal just from reading what you have produced. The way you have described your ancestors holds the richness of detail and understanding that I want to achieve in my own efforts to represent the lives of my own family members. My family also comes from Chawleigh and this is how I found your website.

Thanks for taking the time to fully explain some of the factors that impact family histories and for making your family members "alive" to me through a sensitive and well-developed awareness of their lives and social reality."

A well-deserved round of applause there for the hard work of everyone who has ever written for the website.

We've decided not to publish Issues in January and February of 2006. This is not because we've run out of steam - far from it - we still have a considerable amount of useful material to add to this permanent record of our group of families and plan to be back in March with Issue 49 - so please look out for it. We're creating a gap to give ourselves some extra time to spend on our new website - www.devonheritage.org - which we launched earlier this year and which already has a  link on www.genuki.org.uk. We hope you will visit it and maybe, even find it useful. Roy Hewitt has already started writing articles and we should be very pleased if any contributors to this site feel they can add useful  material to the new site.

To everyone who reads the magazine each month, thank you once again for your continued support because without you, it would all  be a bit pointless. We wish all our readers a very happy Christmas (or Happy Holidays - whichever) and look forward to you joining us again in March 2006
